Dr. Alyce McKenzie, Levan Professor of Preaching and Worship & Altshuler Distinguished Teaching Professor at SMU Perkins School of Theology will draw on wisdom literature of the Bible (Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes and Jesus’ teachings) to address our tendency to live with our focus on our fears rather than our faith. When we focus on our fears, our lives are anxious, we are self absorbed, self indulgent and tend to be timid in speaking out in courageous ways. “Save Your Receipt” looks at how we can exchange our fears for a more faithful, compassionate, disciplined and courageous approach to life.
