Elizabeth Ethun Moseley

elizabeth_e_CS.gifElizabeth was born and raised in Houston, TX, where she played sports, sang in choir, was active in her home church of St. Luke's UMC, and lived with her mom, dad, and two younger sisters until attending college at Boston College.  While there she discovered a passion for the study of God, and decided to see where it would take her.  She studied abroad for a year at Oxford University, during which time she studied theology and history, played rugby, and worked at a pub.  She returned to BC and graduated in 2005 with a BA in Theology and a minor in History.  Determined to continue her studies and to renew a sense of spirituality in her life, she decided to go to seminary.  After being accepted to Perkins School of Theology at SMU, she moved to Dallas, and began working at HPUMC.  She worked part-time for Cornerstone while she was in school, but was still not convinced she was being called to ministry.  Then one day, she woke up and realized she was already in ministry.  So, she went with it.  She graduated with a Master in Theological Studies in 2007, and came on staff full-time as the Associate Pastor for Cornerstone.  She is seeking ordination as a Deacon of the United Methodist Church, and knows that she is doing what God has created her to do.  She loves her husband, Neil, their two cats, Velcro and Corduroy, being outside, going to concerts, eating Thai food, reading, watching movies, and is trying to learn to cook something other than Ramen noodles.  You can visit her prayer blog, An Opening, here.

My favorite quote is... "The time is always right to do what is right." Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

My favorite scripture is...Matthew 28:16-20 "Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'"
