Welcome to Cornerstone online!
| | | I've been asked many times to to describe Cornerstone, especially for those who have never visited us. We've designed Cornerstone to be "user-friendly" for everyone, whatever their background, including those who have never been to church before. If you're a newcomer, we recognize that it's not always easy visiting a church for the first time. You might feel like a nonmember visiting a country club: "Do I belong here? Am I really welcome? Will the people be unfriendly, or too friendly?
|
Will it be easy to leave if I don't enjoy it? Will they ask me for money? Will my kids enjoy it? How should I dress?" Rest assured that we want your visit to Cornerstone to be a positive and stress-free experience. Here's how I would answer some of these questions:
Church is about God and worship, but it's also about community and relationships. We want everyone to experience a genuine warmth and friendliness at Cornerstone. And we hope that you leave feeling refreshed and renewed in your spiritual journey.
I do my best to make Cornerstone sermons interesting, challenging and relevant to daily life. The messages are always rooted in scripture, and I often include contemporary cultural references and stories. If I do my job right, you'll hear solid Christian theology in intelligent, understandable relevant terms. Hopefully you'll laugh once in a while, as we try to convey great joy in our worship.
The Cornerstone Band does a great job leading our praise and worship music with a contemporary feel. Methodists are a singing people, and song is a vital component of our worship! Even though we ask you to simply be our guest on your first visit, we hope you'll drop your attendance slip in an offering basket, so that we can be in touch and respond to any information you request.
People constantly tell me that they feel really comfortable at Cornerstone - "at home" are the words I hear most frequently. I hope you'll stop by this Sunday. If you do, please come up and say hi, and tell me that you found out about Cornerstone on the Internet. Thanks for your interest, and may God bless you!
Grace & Peace,

Rev. Paul Rasmussen, Pastor
