It’s no secret that being a part of a Sunday morning class or small group is what makes Highland Park UMC the “Smallest Big Church” around. You are invited to Give God 2 opportunities on Sunday mornings, one in worship and one in an Adult Sunday Morning Class to allow you to: Grow Deeper in your faith, Get Closer to God and others, and be able to Give Greater in service to the community and the world.

Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White. New Life Fellowship, the new best seller/Bible discussion class, began May 1 and has studied Rob Bell’s Love Wins and Lisa Miller’s Heaven. August 15 we will start Adam Hamilton’s Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White. Come join us Sundays at 11am in Room 216. Grow: Are you a young professional or a graduate student in your 20's or 30's? We follow the teachings of Acts 2, Verses 42-47 with lively casual discussions integrating real life issues with Biblical learning, focus on fellowship with a number of monthly social activities, and offer various volunteer opportunities.  Give: Habitat for Humanity, Willie Build for Habitat for Humanity, Labors for Neighbors, Night Owls, Salvation Army Angel Tree and The North Texas Food Bank.

We are a group of couples and singles in their 20’s and 30’s, is kicking off the fall season with new lessons and new monthly fellowship events.  Join us on Thursday, September 8th from 7:30 – 10:00PM for free food and fellowship at Katy Trail Ice House.  We hope to see you again at 9:30AM on Sunday, September 11 in Room 214 as we begin our 6 week series on Christianity and World Religions. First Light - 8:30 a.m.

Room: Great Hall
Grow: First Light begins with a lecture presentation given by a variety of teachers and ends with discussion and comments. This study brings the scriptures alive and insights from the teacher and others offer class members practical ways to use the Bible in their lives. Give: Austin Street Shelter, Night OWLS dinners & volunteers and Methodist Mission Home.

Grow: This class is based on a study of the Bible, led by a seminary professor, with time provided for questions and comments. Music is an integral part of the class. Give: Night OWLS, Stewpot, Exodus Ministries, Carpenters for Christ, Soup Mobile, Costa Rica, Wilkinson Center, Philippines, Genesis Women’s Center, Dickinson Place, Austin Street Shelter, Russia, School Supplies campaign and highlights an individual community each month.

Grow: Believing that the Bible is the inerrant word of God, this class is an interactive Bible study that begins with a hymn sing. Give: Austin Street Shelter, visits church members in the hospital, Habitat for Humanity, birthday parties for the residents of Dickinson Place and Night OWLS.

Grow: Coffee, cookies, hymns, prayer, announcements and a lesson with lively discussion led by outside and member teachers shape this class.  Topics include Bible, Christian family life, missions, community life, and understanding other religions. Give: Prayer Tower Intercessors, Financially supports a number of local agencies and missions including Genesis Women’s Shelter, Wilkinson Center, Dickinson Place, Costa Rica project, Vision Africa and Wesley-Rankin.

Grow: This class is dedicated to the spiritual growth and enlightenment of each member through the study of God’s Holy Word and its application to our daily lives, and the strengthening of each member’s faith through Christian fellowship, love, care, concern and outreach. Give: Inner-city youth summer camp, Meals on Wheels, Carpenters for Christ, Wesley Rankin and Costa Rica Orphanage.

Grow:  A different inspirational speaker comes weekly to share a fresh revelation of what God is teaching them and how biblical principles can apply to everyday life. The class believes the Bible is the inerrant word of God. Give: Inner-city youth summer camp and Reconciliation Outreach.

Mostly Couples Ages: 40s - 50s

Grow: Programs focus on scriptural, topical, or inspirational and are taught either by outside speakers or by our own members. Lecture and discussion groups are featured.
